There he is, sitting on the throne with the elaborately decorated cape and the crown with precious stones. A bodyguard on each side. As people approach the throne they bow low and humbly. The person on that throne has the authority to bestow on them gifts & riches…. Or prison and death. The man on that thrown has untold power. He is in complete control. Of course, you are going to approach him with reverence.
They made Uzziah king when he was only 16 but he was a good king, he sought the Lord and was loved, in the beginning. He was king for 52 yrs. In 2 Chron 26:5. He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear[b] of God. As long as he sought the LORD, God gave him success.
But after he became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the Lord His God…. Uzziah was human. God is not. God is incapable of sin, lying, or not keeping promises.
I am SO glad that I have a faithful, forgiving, merciful, LOVING God who is on my side and on His THRONE. He has never given up His power. He loves like a lamb, but He fights like a lion and HE alone rules and will rule for ever and ever.
Knowing all of that, how can we worry?
The Bible is full of stories of God’s love & power. It is also full of promises. Promises like Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you…..” Deut. 31:6. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you, He will never leave you or forsake you”. He truly is the King of Kings.
