Don’t Believe Everything

When I can’t remember scripture, I sometimes google the part I can remember. Often it works great because the verse I didn’t fully memorize will pop up. The problem with this method is that not only does that verse from the bible come up but several other things. I have started to read articles and as I got into them realized that they were not biblical. Some were actually Jehovah’s Witness, Mormon and some were just whacky.

My dad is 94 and in a VA nursing home in FL. Very often lately when I call him, he asks me questions like “Did you hear that Barron trump got a girl pregnant and they are getting married?” or “Did you hear that David Jeremiah lost his faith?” or “Did you hear that they dropped a nuclear bomb on Las Vegas?”   Now, understand, he is pretty with it most of the time and realizes this is strange but some channel he gets on his TV is telling him this stuff. Once he told me that Donald Trump was dead and there were pictures of him with his family mourning him. 

Matt 24:4  Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

2 Timothy 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

My personal belief is that Artificial Intelligence is going to play a huge part in the end times. We already know that they can take an image of someone and make a voice come out of that image that sounds exactly like the person, so what is to stop someone from using that technology to deceive us?

There is only one thing that will keep us safe when those things happen. Jesus. We need to be reading His word, praying and getting close to Him because if we do, we will know the truth! 

John 10:27-28. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

We are His sheep; we need to hear his voice over all of the other voices out there so that we will not be deceived.

Help us Lord, to stay close to you, that we may hear your voice. Amen
