Savior

What “name” comes to mind when you think of Jesus. I think first of savior. If I didn’t have a savor, I wouldn’t be here. If I did not have someone who saved me from the depths of hell, I couldn’t go on. I truly do not know how non believers get up in the morning. I remember seeing a bumper sticker. “Life’s a drag and then you die”. That pretty much covers it. Life is hard! I feel like I am in a battle at least once a week. Yesterday was my day. Too many things just thrown at me at once. You have those days too! We all do. But you see, I know that this life with all of it’s trials, is only a blip on the screen. It is fleeting. THEN! THEN we get to spend eternity with Jesus! I saw a picture of someone hugging Jesus that said “First Day in Heaven”. Such a huge hug, huge smile. But the article said, “The first day will be amazing, but I doubt that my smile will dim after my 10th day, my 10th month or even my 10th year.”

We don’t know much about heaven, God told us just enough to make sure we WANT to go there. Knowing our option, OH YES! I want to go there! God doesn’t tell us everything about himself. There are hints everywhere in the bible. We know that He makes us promises and that he cannot break His promise. We get to know Him by reading about His promises. We know He loves us with a love that we cannot comprehend! God sent His only son to be our savor. I could not give up one of my sons to save anyone. Jesus went thru unimaginable pain and horrific death. I couldn’t do that for anyone else either. We are not God. I am thankful every day that God is who He is and that He made a plan so that we would not be separated from Him for eternity. On those hard days, just talking to Him raises my spirit. Just remembering the promise of heaven cheers my heart.

Thank you Lord, for the gift of salvation. For the promise that I will spend eternity with you in a place so amazing. Of all the wonderful gifts you give us, this is the best!!

Amen
