Genesis 22:14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” Genesis 22:14 — ...
You know the story, Abraham & his wife were OLDER when God made Abraham a promise, that his descendants would be as many as the stars. To his credit, Abraham did not scoff at God’s promise even though he was old. When his wife had Isaac they were so thrilled. There must have been much joy in the household. They loved Isaac so much. But one day, God wanted to test Abraham. He told him to bring Isaac to the alter & sacrifice him. Abraham did exactly as God had asked. When they got there, Isaac said, “Father, where is the lamb for sacrifice?” Abraham told him not to worry because God would provide it. As Abraham lay Isaac on the alter & drew back the knife, God stopped him. God was very pleased that Abraham would not withhold his only son from God. So instead of Isaac, God provided a ram that was nearby.
Have you ever had a time in your life where God provided something you really needed and had no idea how it was going to happen? Then when suddenly it happened, you realize that it could not have come from anyone or any place but God? We know that he supplies our daily needs. In these times of uncertainty it is hard not to get anxious from time to time. If you watch the news, they just go from one crazy thing to another! 5 years ago, who would have thought that our country would have been shut down by a virus for almost 2 years? But, we read in the Bible, there is hope in nearly every page. God tells us so many places not to worry, to seek Him, and He will provide!
Matt 6:31 So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. (NLT)
I am SO grateful to have a God that I can turn to when I have a need. When I am anxious. He KNOWS what we need. Where can you go? Who will help? God is the only one and His promises are all over the bible. He is faithful to provide our needs and His promises endure forever.
