I just saw a video of an eagle flying majestically, soaring, dipping, gliding on air currents. He seemed to be circling over the water when suddenly he swept down, plunged into the water and for a second, I was worried. He didn’t come back up immediately. Then, he popped up but obviously has something in his talons. He was using his immense wings like paddles and was pushing his way to shore with them. It was amazing to watch the strength. He did not seem to be struggling, just pushing through. As he came to shallow water, you could see he had a very large fish in his talons. The eagle is our countries national symbol because of its fierce strength & tenacity. The Bible also speaks of the eagle in many places and of course our favorite is Isaiah 40: 29 but I am including a few previous verses where God is reminding them (& us) WHO He is.
Isaiah 40:25 “To whom will you compare me?
Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one
and calls forth each of them by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.
27 Why do you complain, Jacob?
Why do you say, Israel,
“My way is hidden from the LORD;
my cause is disregarded by my God”?
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
29He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Verses 29-31 is so beautiful and well known. Just think, in these bodies, we all get weak, emotionally, physically, spiritually. EVEN the young! Ahhh, but to those of us that LOVE & hope in the Lord….. to us, He makes these wonderful promises. THANK YOU, Lord, that You will pick me up, that You will renew my strength, that I will soar on wings of eagles, that I will run and not grow weary. You are a Good, Good God. Amen!
