Lift My Head

Lift My Head, Lord

Lord, how many are my foes!

    How many rise up against me!

2 Many are saying of me,

    “God will not deliver him.”[b]

3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me,

    my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

4 I call out to the Lord,

    and he answers me from his holy mountain.

5 I lie down and sleep;

    I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

6 I will not fear though tens of thousands

    assail me on every side.

7 Arise, Lord!

    Deliver me, my God!

Strike all my enemies on the jaw;

    break the teeth of the wicked.

8 From the Lord comes deliverance.

    May your blessing be on your people.

How was your week? I was in prayer often for different people who had some really tough issues going on. Some health, some family. In both cases we talked about spiritual warfare, putting on the whole armor of God and getting ready for the battle they were in. When I was younger I remember thinking that I didn’t really relate to David’s songs about being pursued, having his life threatened, but having been in a couple of these battles myself, I DO relate! The more I read my bible, the more I believe that there is not a word in here that we cannot gain from.

The enemy is at work. He is roaming here and there waiting to kill, steal and destroy. He often knows your weaknesses and will prey on those. But take heart, 1 John 4:4 “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”. If you have had a rough week, I am sorry. Pick up Psalms and read any praise verse. There are so many and there is power in praising Jesus!! If you are exhausted from the battle, and even prayer is hard, put on the praise music. I have done this and the enemy cannot stand to be around it. Know that Jesus knows, He understands, He cares and He is there for you, even if it doesn’t always seem like that. I have no doubt that the enemy knows that his time is near an end so he is working overtime.

Thank you Jesus for always being here for us, you are always one prayer away. Amen
