I can see it in their eyes

Have you ever sat, maybe at an airport or the mall and people “Watched”? 

I love to watch people. I love to see them with different expressions on their face, different gaits to their walk. Sometimes I sit and play a game guessing where they are going and what’s going on in their lives. Some people are easy to guess, at least on the surface. Like the Man & Woman with 3 small children. Everyone is excited and the kids all have Disney bags. They are making family memories on vacation. Then there is the very sober man walking quickly with his briefcase. He is probably on a quick business trip. But when we sang this song this morning, I found myself really dwelling on the words.   So often, we CAN see it in their eyes. SO many people, so many cares and burdens. Going through life from one fear to another, especially since we now have to face a world with things that  are so out of our control. Some expressions can almost see the look of “broken dreams” on their faces. We have all been there. We have all had those broken dreams. Loved ones we have lost too soon, people who just left our lives without any real explanation. Money problems, health problems, dreams of a future that now looks totally different. 

“We are called to take His light

To a world where wrong seems right

What could be too great a cost

For sharing life with one who's lost?

Through His love our hearts can feel

All the grief they bear

They must hear the words of life

Only we can share”

The thing is, for those of us who KNOW the Lord, WE know where to go. We KNOW that He has the words of eternal life, the HE will never leave us or forsake us, that HE pulls us from the miry clay and sets our feet on firm ground. I think this is the exact reason that WE are called to take His light to a world where wrong seems right. What could be too great a cost, for sharing life with one who’s lost? And WE are the only ones, with knowledge of Him, who can share these words of life. 

Today, remember that our mission is to spread Gods great news. If you are on Facebook, share a bible verse, a Christian song from you tube, a devotion. Send someone an email, a card, give them a call. You do not need to “hit them over the head” with your bible. ANY thing you say can be a seed. Because there is a hurting world out there. They need Jesus. We ALL need Jesus. 

Matt 7:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ... For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; ...

I am praying today that all the lost and lonely people will seek the one with all the answers. Because if they seek and knock, the door WILL be opened and they too, can have eternal life and hope in Him.
