No Eye Has Seen
No Eye Has Seen
Sunday was the final day of the Sandwich Fair. For people like Roger who has responsibilities there, it is the culmination of a long but fun week. It’s a week of seeing people we only see that time of year and catching up with so many. One common thread I heard over and over is the stress they feel. Stresses from work, marriage, health, children, money, the current social climate, the list goes on. I love to people watch there also. If you sit back and watch the people walking by, it’s fun to guess what is going on in their lives. Moms & Dads with kiddos. Some having lots of fun and others stressed because the kiddos are all wound up and dragging them from rides to games to cotton candy. At one point I almost tripped over an entire cone of cotton candy. That child must have upset his parents by dropping the whole thing.
Now I know that we all get stressed. We all get upset, sad or frustrated. Doesn’t matter if you are a Christian or not. It happens. But we as Christ followers have this great healer who helps us when things get hard. Not only that but we each have had those days where you wonder if you can take it. That’s when we need to get into the Bible, and on our knees in prayer! Because in the bible, God gives us so many amazing promises!
1 Cor 2:9
But as it is written, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him.”
The core message is that God has prepared a level of beauty, glory, and fulfillment for His people that is beyond what any human eye could see, ear could hear, or mind could conceive. This knowledge is made available through the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
I used to have a little book of God’s Promises. It was filled with Bible verses in which God made promises to His people. It’s a wonderful source to remind us when we are down what He is doing and will do for us. Just think, no one anywhere has ever seen, heard or imagined heaven. Our little minds just cannot comprehend it. God has given us a beautiful world. Amazing mountains, sensational oceans, but we see in this verse, they do not compare to heaven.
Lord, thank you for the wonders of this world. They are an incredible joy to behold. You created it all and hung the stars in the sky, But on those down days, remind us of what you are doing right now and in heaven just for us. Amen
