Psalm 139:1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise;  you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.

5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

Verses 1-12 speak of how much God knows us. So, does it really matter that He knows us THAT much? I mean, He knows that we are His people, He knows that we worship Him, follow Him, try to mold ourselves like Him.

Another question. Do you have really good friends? Someone who can finish your sentences? Someone who knows you so well that they know how you will react to a situation? Now think about that friend and these verses. Even that wonderful friend cannot fill this spot. There is truly no human that can KNOW your thoughts, or the words that will fall off of your tongue every time. They cannot be everywhere you are every minute of every day. But there is one who can. When Jesus left the disciples to go back to heaven, he told them that he would leave them a ”helper”. The holy spirit. He is that still, quiet voice that urges you into right acting. Sometimes he is that voice screaming, “DANGER, run away”. He is the voice that comforts reminding us that God loves us and things will be ok. Even before the Holy Spirit was here on earth, God knew all these things. He ALWAYS WAS, Always will be and always sees his people. There is so much comfort to me to realize that I can take every issue in my life to him. There are so many things in my life that I would be embarrassed to tell friends or talk to them about, but not Jesus. Why be embarrassed? He already knows. He is waiting for you to come to him. It is what we were made for. Relationship with Him.

Father, your amazing love fills every fiber of our being, IF we let it. I am so grateful to have a God whose love is so immense. Help me to be the person that you want me to be. Amen
