I open my Strongs exhaustive concordance to look up some verses on child of God. First, I looked up the word “child” and next to it of course is “children”. There are literally pages (in small print) of references in the Bible to children. Then I looked at father. There are pages of “father” as well, so it’s obvious from these two facts that God has a lot to say about those two subjects.
If you have children you know how much you love them. We are not perfect beings and yet we love our children more than life itself. Matt 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him! I know when I was younger, I had an incredibly hard time understanding how God could love me. I am so unworthy of his love! In fact I think if I were God I would not even like me some days!. Thankfully I am not God. He loves us with an incomprehensible love. And if you are having a hard time with that concept, get out your concordance and look up “children”. Then on another day look up “father”. His love is too amazing to miss!. I believe that just knowing how much he loves us makes us better people. It makes us want to love others as He wants us to, or as much as we can in our humanness. So today Rest in his arms, rest in his love and know that you were worthy because of his miraculous gift to us. Thank you Jesus for your gift of salvation!

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.
