Isaiaih 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Long before Jesus was born, His birth was foretold in Isaiah. There are so many promises & prophesies in the bible that have come to be. The humble birth of this babe who was born to such a simple beginning, wrapped in cloths to keep him warm, laying among the animals instead of a palace. We know the story. How this child from a lowly beginning becomes the King of Kings, the savior of the nations. How one day they come for Him, they beat Him, they hang him on a cross and then we learn that He did these things so that God would resurrect Him on the 3rd day. He suffered and died in OUR place for our sins. We are imperfect sinners and cannot stand before a perfect God so God sent His only son to take our place so that WE can live with Him in heaven forever. As wonderful as the story of birth of baby Jesus is, it pales in comparison to the story of His death and resurrection only because it truly is the reason we have hope. Hope that one day we will live with Him forever. One day we will see those we love again. The hope that there IS a life after this one. Think of all the people who think that this life is all there is. I sure understand why they have no hope, they are sad, miserable and even sometimes hateful people.

Our family was blessed with a new baby about 4 mo ago. The joy of any new baby just fills your heart. So precious and so much hope for their future, but no matter how much we love our new addition, she will not be perfect, her future is one of needing a savior. Those of us around her and especially her parents will do everything we can to lead her to Christ as she grows. So today as we dream of that perfect baby in the manger, let us rejoice and sing songs of praise to a God who would give us a gift that we do not deserve and could not earn. All Hail the new born Prince.
