Choose this day whom you will serve… as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15

Election day is an important day as we choose who we want to lead our country. Our decision, our choice will have a lasting affect on our country for years to come. I know who I am voting for today, but twenty years ago I made an even more important choice. No, it wasn’t Bush/Gore and who I was going to vote for, it was a choice of who I was going to live for.

Twenty years ago Lisa and I were engaged and planning a wedding. There are lots of choices to make when planning a wedding, what cake, what church, what dress? The most important was how we were going to live. To answer that, we picked out Joshua 24:15 as our wedding verse, “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. We have changed homes, we have changed jobs, but the one thing that has not changed is that wherever we are at, we will serve the Lord. How about you, have you made that decision? How are you going to live, who are you going to serve? I can tell you that choice I made twenty years ago was the best I have ever made!
