When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?
Psalms 8:3-4

Yesterday, I got the day off for a national holiday, Columbus Day. We can remember Columbus for discovering the new world. I can only imagine what it was like to be on a little ship in the middle of a vast ocean and seeing nothing but more ocean for weeks. The ocean is so huge, that it was impressive to cross it. Yet, far more impressive is to look around outside and remember who created that ocean, this world, this vast universe! What an amazing creation we live in and what an amazing God who put it all together. Our God is an awesome God! As for me on the other hand, I think I’m pretty insignificant in this vast world of billions of people and even more so when I think of the universe. Yet, I’m not insignificant to God. He still knows me by name, and loves me enough to send His Son to save me. The Almighty God of this universe cares for me, He cares for you. Let’s praise God today and thank this awesome God for being our Saviour!

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
