The Battle Belongs to the Lord

How many people do we know right now that are struggling? Money, health, work, marriage, kids, grandkids... Some are even in a real battle! Maybe you are, if you are not now, you will. Life isn’t easy, but we have a God who goes to battle for us!
How many times in the Bible does God go to battle for His people in a big way? In Joshua 1-17, he tells the army to March around the city of Jericho for 7 days & on the 7th day, they shout & the walls fall down, delivering the entire city to Gods army.
The philistines sent a man over 9 ft tall to threaten God’s people. For 40 days Goliath came out every morning & every night to threaten them. Boasting of his strength & courage. When young David heard of this he told King Saul that he would defeat Goliath. When Saul said, but you are just a boy, David said “....the Lord who delivered me from the paw of the Lion and the paw of the bear, will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And what do you know, young David brought the giant down with one stone! 1 Sam 17:47. David said “ All those gathered here will know that it is not by the sword or spear that the Lord saves; FOR THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S and He will give all of you over into our hands.”
God delivered. Pastor Steve’s sermon on “Don’t lose the Awe” reminds us of how amazing our God is. Some of us have been His followers for a while & it’s easy to take it for granted that God made the lame walk and the blind see. If you are in a battle, remember it’s not yours. The same God who set the stars in the sky, that delivered Goliath to a young boy, that God is ready to fight with a legion of angels. Just put on the full Armour of God & call on Him. (Eph. 6)

If He is with us, who can be against us? ( Romans 8:31)
