Early one morning I was heading out of town on a trip, when I came across a letter that was written to me. My daughter had secretly written a note and stuffed it in my shoe the night before I left. Her note was letting me know to enjoy my trip and be safe, but what stood out was what was in the middle of the letter:

She wrote:

“And to know –
We always love you!
No matter what!”

She didn’t need to take the time to write a note and say I love you. I knew she loved me, but that short little note was quite an encouragement and put a smile on my face.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Is there someone close to you that could use some encouragement? Does that someone need to hear you love them or how much you appreciate them? Sometimes we think they don’t, but a little thoughtfulness and encouragement can go a long way to making someone’s day.
