Imagine if you will, a trapeze artist flying through the air. There are 2 performers swinging on 2 bars. The drum rolls and one of the artists lets go of their bar, does a mid air summer sault, reaches out, grabs the hands of the other trapeze artist… TA DA! Great job! But what about the artists when they were practicing? I’m sure there were times he “fell short” of reaching his trapeze. He fell quickly to the net below. Got up and tried again.
GUESS WHAT? We have a safety net too. His name is Jesus Christ. His sacrifice made sure that when we fall short of the glory of God (and we all DO) that we can pick ourselves up and start again, knowing our sins are forgiven, and we do not have to fear that we are unworthy.

Romans 3:22-23 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

So for those of us who have faith in Jesus Christ, and believe, it doesn’t matter who you are, ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Our confession says: {we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. By what we have done and what we have left undone.}
That is pretty expansive. It covers a lot of ground! So YES! I do sin every day. If I didn’t, would I need a saviour? If I were perfect…. but if I were perfect, or the world was perfect, I would miss it all, not looking for a saviour. Not looking for salvation. Not looking for help. I would miss the whole experience of knowing my Jesus. Of the peace and joy that relationship brings. But alas, there is nothing perfect in this world!! Devastation, war, sickness, depression, emptiness, brokenness, the list goes on. But it doesn’t matter. This FREE gift of salvation, steeped in relationship, healing and love is here for all of us. ALL who are willing to accept it. There is no application to fill out to qualify. There is no person to bribe to make it happen. No money to deposit to hold your spot in the book of life. Just ask. REALLY? Just ask? There must be a catch! Well, one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. Because He already loves you.

Romans 4:7 Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.
