Rehab was described in Joshua to as a prostitute. Joshua told his men to go into Jericho and scope the place out. They went into the home of Rahab, as her home was in the outter wall that was so deep and impenetrable. She made a deal with Joshua‘s men that they would save her and her entire family if she would not tell the king about Joshua‘s plan and help them to take over Jericho. Read Joshua 2 for the whole story. Now this is a familiar story because they used a prostitute and saved her and her entire family. There’s a real story of redemption here because she was saved from that life & God lifted her up. But I also think there’s another story here. That being, how she had the faith to trust her life and her family‘s life with these people instead of turning them in to the king. It must have taken a lot of courage and a lot of faith to fulfill that act. How much faith do you have today? Are you running low? Are you filled to the brim? We have our high days and are low days for sure. The thing to remember is that’s not on God. He is the same yesterday, today & tomorrow. That’s on us. Are you spending time with Him? Don’t think I’m pointing a finger. I’m guilty too. But I find when I spend time with him, my days go better. I am calmer , more peace. I enjoy life with much less stress. The Bible is full of people like Rahabs story of faith. What would your story of faith be today?-- Would it be like Daniel in the Lions den? Some days it feels like you are thrown to the lions! Would it be David & Goliath? We certainly have days of fighting what seems like giants! How about Jonah? I don’t always want to do what I think God wants me to do…. But I am not inclined to be swallowed up by a big fish!
God’s word is filled with REAL stories of REAL people. Flawed people, broken people & little people. He uses them all. He uses US all…. If we let him. Give in to Him today.
